The Shows Worth Your Time — A Quick Rundown
1. Marty: Life is Short (Netflix, May 12) A warm, richly curated documentary on the legendary Martin Short — comic genius, Emmy winner, and pure entertainment gold. Directed by Lawrence Kasdan, it brings unseen clips, new interviews, and behind-the-scenes moments spanning the 76-year-old’s remarkable career across film, TV, theatre, and stand-up.
2. The Punisher: One Last Kill (Disney+ / JioHotstar, May 12) The big one. Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle in this unique 60-minute special event. Frank is trying to walk away from the violence that has defined him — but, of course, the world has other plans. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, this is unmissable for Marvel fans.
3. Untold UK: Jamie Vardy (Netflix, May 12) From non-league footballer to Premier League legend — Jamie Vardy’s journey is the kind of story that makes you believe in the impossible. Part of a three-film football documentary series, this one gets deeply personal about his rise with Leicester City, told through his own eyes and those closest to him.
4. Good Omens: The Finale (Prime Video, May 13) Say your tearful goodbyes. Michael Sheen and David Tennant return as Aziraphale and Crowley for the beloved fantasy comedy’s final chapter. Following their heartbreaking separation, the two face new forces that test everything — including their unspoken bond. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to cover it.
5. Off Campus (Prime Video, May 13) Based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling novel The Deal, this campus romance follows music student Hannah Wells and hockey star Garrett Graham in a fake-dating situation that, as always, gets very real. Already renewed for Season 2 before even airing — that tells you everything.
6. Perfect Match Season 4 (Netflix, May 13) Your favourite reality TV alumni are back! Contestants from Love Is Blind, Love Island, Too Hot to Handle and more enter a high-stakes dating competition where every couple decision can make or break their game. If you love chaotic love triangles, this delivers.
7. Nemesis (Netflix, May 14) A gripping cat-and-mouse thriller where a police detective and a criminal become dangerously entangled — until families get pulled into the crossfire. Created by Courtney A. Kemp of Power fame, this one promises edge-of-your-seat intensity across every episode.
8. The A List (HBO Max / JioHotstar, May 14) Timed with Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, this documentary series puts 15 extraordinary stories from Asian and Pacific diasporas in the spotlight — featuring voices like Sandra Oh, Kumail Nanjiani, and Connie Chung. Moving, empowering, and deeply necessary.
9. Dutton Ranch (JioHotstar / Paramount+, May 15) The Yellowstone universe expands again! Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their beloved roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, now running a sprawling ranch in South Texas and raising a child — until a territorial dispute with a neighbouring ranch owner threatens to blow everything up.
10. It’s Not Like That (Prime Video, May 15) A recently divorced woman and a widower find unexpected comfort in each other while navigating parenthood — except she was once the best friend of his late wife. The emotional weight here is real, and the performances from Scott Foley and Erinn Hayes make it worth every quiet, complicated moment.
11. Rivals Season 2 (Disney+ / JioHotstar, May 15) David Tennant and Aidan Turner return to this wickedly entertaining period drama based on Jilly Cooper’s 1988 novel. Lord Baddingham’s media empire faces fresh threats as Rupert Campbell-Black’s rivalry intensifies — scandalous, glamorous, and absolutely addictive.
