YG Entertainment’s New Boy Group and Girl Group: Debut Timeline Update and What Fans Should Expect

Waiting for a new YG debut? You’re not alone, and the agency just gave fans a fresh status report.

The Latest Update

On October 14 KST, YG founder Yang Hyun Suk released a statement covering the agency’s plans for the rest of 2026, including comebacks from BABYMONSTER and TREASURE. At the end, he turned to the two groups still in preparation.

YG Entertainment is getting ready to debut a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group, the latter currently going by the project name “NEXT MONSTER.” He said both groups plan to record several demo songs by the end of this year, and once title tracks are finalised, a clearer debut timeline should follow.

YG Entertainment: Debut Plans

What About the September Plan?

Back in April, Yang Hyun Suk said the agency planned to launch the new boy group in September. That didn’t happen, and the new statement shifts the focus to song selection before any debut date is set. In K-pop, a strong title track often matters more than a rushed schedule, so the extra time may be intentional.

Why These Groups Matter to YG?

Yang Hyun Suk said the two groups, alongside TREASURE and BABYMONSTER, will play an important role in shaping YG’s future. He added that he is personally doing everything he can to make sure they’re fully prepared. That’s a strong signal of how much the agency is investing in this next generation.

What Fans Can Expect Next?

• More YG releases from TREASURE and BABYMONSTER before the year ends
• Demo recording for both new groups
• Another YG ANNOUNCEMENT video near the end of 2026
