The Pasupu Tradition Explained

The Pasupu function is a sacred Telugu pre-wedding ritual where family members pound raw turmeric roots into paste, representing purity and prosperity. Yellow marigolds and white florals transformed the Allu residence, with intricate hangings and a decorated backdrop where family performed traditional rituals.

Mega Family Women Lead Ceremonies

Despite Allu Arjun’s absence, the extended Mega family women gathered: Upasana Konidela (Ram Charan’s wife) glowed despite recently welcoming twins, Surekha Konidela (Chiranjeevi’s wife) performed harathi with young Arha, Anna Lezhneva (Pawan Kalyan’s wife) joined celebrations, and Sneha Reddy (Allu Arjun’s wife) embraced father-in-law Allu Aravind. Parents Nirmala and Aravind Allu led the turmeric pounding tradition.

Why Allu Arjun Missed the Ceremony

While Allu Arjun attended the Dubai yacht pre-wedding party with friends and family, his demanding film schedule kept him away from Thursday’s Pasupu ceremony. The superstar is currently deep into production on AA22xA6, his highly anticipated collaboration with director Trivikram Srinivas.

However, he showed family support by sharing Sirish’s wedding celebration videos on social media, helping the posts go viral across platforms.

Dubai Pre-Wedding & Sentimental Date Choice

Days earlier, Sirish and Nayanika hosted a Dubai yacht party with friends flying in from the US, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. “Kicking off our wedding celebrations like this felt absolutely magical,” Sirish shared about the intimate celebration.

He deliberately chose March 6—the exact date Allu Arjun married Sneha Reddy—announcing this through a December viral reel featuring his nieces and nephews.

About Nayanika Reddy

Sirish and Nayanika met at a party, dated for years, and announced their engagement in October 2025. The couple maintained privacy before going public with their dreamy engagement ceremony. The March 6 wedding will be an intimate affair.
