XMG has officially launched the APEX 17 MAX, a high-performance gaming laptop featuring the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor and NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series GPUs. This new addition to XMG’s lineup is designed for gamers and content creators seeking both power and efficiency, delivering impressive specs that make it a strong competitor in the gaming laptop market.

Cutting-Edge AMD and NVIDIA Hardware

The standout feature of the XMG APEX 17 MAX is its AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor, part of the “Dragon Range” series, which boasts 16 cores and 32 threads. Paired with either the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070, the APEX 17 MAX offers a smooth gaming experience, capable of handling the latest AAA titles and demanding applications.

The 8 GB GDDR6 memory on the RTX 40 series ensures fast data transfer and sharp graphics rendering, making it ideal for gaming, video editing, and 3D modeling.

Stunning WQHD Display with 100% DCI-P3 Color Accuracy

The APEX 17 MAX comes equipped with a 17.3-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS display, offering vibrant visuals with 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 color space coverage. The display’s 165Hz refresh rate and support for AMD FreeSync deliver a seamless gaming experience with no screen tearing or stuttering.

With 330 nits of brightness, the screen remains crisp and clear, even in well-lit environments. Additionally, the laptop includes a power-saving 60Hz mode for improved battery life when high refresh rates are not necessary.

Power Efficiency and Battery Life

One of the most notable features of the APEX 17 MAX is its efficiency. XMG claims the laptop provides up to 72% higher power efficiency than the Intel-powered XMG NEO 17, making it a more sustainable option for gamers.

The 73Wh battery is replaceable, and users can extend battery life further by switching to iGPU-only mode, which disables the dedicated GPU (dGPU). The built-in MUX switch allows for quick toggling between the dGPU and integrated GPU for either performance or power-saving modes.

Superior Cooling and Customizable Performance

To handle the high-performance components, XMG has equipped the APEX 17 MAX with a robust cooling system featuring copper heat pipes, dual 60mm fans, and four air outlets. The Control Center software allows users to customize fan curves and choose from four performance profiles, ensuring the laptop remains cool under load.

The laptop’s peak power consumption for the CPU and GPU reaches 180 watts, with sustained power levels that maintain optimal performance even in extended gaming sessions.

Expandable Storage and Memory

The APEX 17 MAX supports up to 96GB of DDR5 RAM, with memory speeds reaching up to 5200MHz. It also features two M.2 SSD slots with PCI Express 4.0 x4 support, enabling users to set up RAID configurations for faster data access. With these specs, gamers and professionals can expect quick load times and sufficient storage for large files and games.

Connectivity and Build

The laptop includes modern connectivity options such as WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5, USB-C 3.2 Gen2 ports, HDMI 2.1, and a Gigabit LAN. Users can connect multiple external displays via USB-C or DisplayPort, enhancing their gaming or work setup.

The APEX 17 MAX also features a backlit keyboard with customizable lighting options, stereo speakers, a full HD webcam with noise reduction, and a Microsoft Precision Touchpad for an enhanced user experience.

Pricing and Availability

The XMG APEX 17 MAX starts at €1,599, including VAT, with configurations beginning at 16GB DDR5 RAM, a 500GB SSD, and an RTX 4060 GPU. Upgrading to the RTX 4070 and additional RAM or storage increases the price accordingly. The laptop is available for customization on Bestware, offering flexibility for users who require specific configurations for their gaming or professional needs.

The XMG APEX 17 MAX is a compelling option for gamers and professionals who need a high-performance laptop with impressive power efficiency. With its top-tier AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor, RTX 40 series GPUs, stunning display, and efficient design, this laptop stands out as a powerful yet versatile device capable of handling intensive tasks with ease.
