Xiaomi Teases Redmi Watch 5: AMOLED Display & 24-Day Battery

In China, Xiaomi has announced a big launch event on November 27, where we will see some new products including the much-awaited Redmi Watch 5. The company has already teased the design of its smartwatch and more recently put some light on the display and feature specifications.

Xiaomi Teases Redmi Watch 5 with AMOLED Display, Premium Design, and 24-Day Battery Life

As per the latest teaser post from Xiaomi on Weibo, the Watch 5 will feature a 2.07-inch AMOLED display. This display will be capable of achieving a peak brightness of 1500 nits making it a big upgrade from the Redmi Watch 4 with its 1.97-inch display and a peak brightness of 600 nits. This enhanced brightness will make use of the Redmi Watch 5, more readable under bright outdoor conditions which means a better visibility experience all through.

The new teaser further confirms that the Redmi Watch 5 will feature a stunning 82% screen-to-body ratio, up from 74.8% of its predecessor. On top of these, there are also design improvements, integrating a more premium and sophisticated look to the smartwatch with a metal frame as well as a stainless steel rotating crown. Redmi’s product manager, Hu Xinxin confirmed these design changes.

As for its software and features, the Watch 5 will run on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, providing a smooth and seamless experience. It will support focus notifications and allow users quick access to nine mainstream apps, although the names of these apps are yet to be revealed. One of the most appealing aspects of the new watch is its battery life, which can last up to 24 days when using the battery-saver mode, making it perfect for long-term use without frequent charging.

Pricing details for the Watch 5 are still undisclosed, but the smartwatch is expected to be available shortly.
