Xiaomi 14 Series and HyperOS Set to Launch in China on October 26

Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming Xiaomi 14 series phones and HyperOS. The launch event is set to take place on Thursday, October 26 at 7 PM Beijing time. The Xiaomi 14 series is anticipated to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which will be unveiled at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit on October 24.

Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 14 series will incorporate Leica Summilux lenses. This marks the first time that Xiaomi will utilize Leica Summilux lenses in its smartphones. In the past, the brand employed Leica Summicron lenses for its flagship smartphones, including the Xiaomi 12/13 series and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept phone.

There are speculations that Xiaomi will introduce two smartphones within the Xiaomi 14 series: the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Renders of the Pro model’s design have recently been disclosed, revealing a flat display, departing from the curved-edge design of its predecessor. It also features a quad-camera setup, as opposed to the triple-camera setup on the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

The Xiaomi 14 has also made an appearance on Geekbench with 16GB of RAM. In the tests, the device achieved a score of 2244 points in the single-core test and 6820 points in the multi-core test using Geekbench 6. In addition to unveiling the next-generation Xiaomi 14 series in China on October 26, Xiaomi will also introduce its new operating system, HyperOS, on the same day. The company aspires for its new operating system to be the “center of your universe,” according to an official teaser announcement.

HyperOS represents Xiaomi’s latest operating system and is expected to be its first cross-platform operating system, compatible not only with smartphones but also with tablets, smartwatches, and even the brand’s forthcoming electric vehicle. Xiaomi executive Cici Wei teased that HyperOS aims to be the hub of users’ technological lives, connecting users, cars, and homes.
