UEFA Women’s Euro 2022: Germany Women reach another final

After the hosts England Women qualified for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 final, another big favourite Germany Women advanced to the final of this tournament with strong performances.

UEFA Women’s Euro can’t be dreamt of without Germany Women, who are holding the record of eight titles as they are the only team to win this trophy more than twice. After failing to qualify for the first two editions of the UEFA Women’s Championship (1984 and 1987), Germany Women won eight out of the next nine tournaments (1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2013) as they finished in the fourth position in the 1993 edition.

In the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017, the previous edition, Die Nationalelf were eliminated by Denmark Women from the quarter-finals, which ended their six-time UEFA Women’s Championship title-winning streak.
