Will There Be Enola Holmes 4? Here’s What the Ending Hints At

Enola Holmes 3 just wrapped up its biggest mystery yet, but the final shot left fans buzzing. As of July 2026, Netflix hasn’t confirmed Enola Holmes 4 — but the door is wide open, and here’s why a fourth installment feels more likely than not.

What the Ending Sets Up

After Enola and Tewkesbury finally marry and the stolen Afghan gold saga wraps up, the camera dips underwater to reveal a sunken ship named “The Wrath of Adeline, 1833” — a name tied directly to Moriarty’s alias throughout the film. No explanation follows, leaving a clear thread for a future mystery. The franchise is based on Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes book series, which still has plenty of unadapted material left to draw from.

Enola Holmes 4: Franchise Snapshot

Why a Sequel Looks Likely

Cast enthusiasm is a strong signal. Millie Bobby Brown, who also produces the films, has said she’d happily return if Netflix moves forward, while Himesh Patel has expressed similar interest in reprising Dr. Watson. Historically, Netflix’s renewal decisions on major franchises land within four to eight weeks of release, meaning an announcement could realistically arrive by August 2026 if Enola Holmes 3 performs well.

What Could Enola Holmes 4 Be About?

Possibilities include unpacking the shipwreck’s connection to Moriarty’s alias, uncovering the true identity of “Adeline,” or diving into an entirely new case unrelated to the previous films. With Enola now married and established as a detective in her own right, the franchise has room to explore new territory without repeating old story beats.
