The Story

Gap Soo (Kim Yun Seok) is a station master nearing retirement, and he has guarded Seolo Station for many years. His final day is close, and he’s supposed to hand over his duties to his newly appointed successor, Hyun Taek (Koo Kyo Hwan). But heavy snowfall delays Hyun Taek’s arrival and disrupts those plans. When the two finally meet, they discover a mysterious body at the station, which is now isolated by the storm, according to Soompi’s report.

What the Stills Show?

MoodWhat the Stills Capture
Daily routineGap Soo straightens his uniform and adjusts his hat in front of a mirror, and inspects the snow-covered tracks
UnsettlingHe sits alone in a cluttered station office and hurriedly opens a door

The first set shows the careful habits of a veteran. The second raises the question: what happened at this once-peaceful station?

The Heart of the Film

Kim Yun Seok described the film as having distinctly drawn characters and a tightly woven narrative. He said he paid special attention to the emotions between someone who has held a position for many years and someone about to take it over.

He explained that Gap Soo is torn between conflicting feelings: lingering attachment, regret, pride, admiration and jealousy. The relationship between the veteran and his successor is central to the film, so the mystery may be only half of the story.

Why It’s Worth Watching?

A snowbound location, a small cast and a body in an isolated place are classic thriller ingredients. Pairing them with a story about retirement and passing the torch gives the film an emotional layer that many thrillers lack. With Kim Yun Seok and Koo Kyo Hwan sharing the screen, the performances could be a highlight.
