What’s New on Netflix UK This Week: The Twits, The Diplomat Season 3 & Splinter Cell: Deathwatch

Another massive week for Netflix UK! With 45 new titles dropping into your streaming library, you’ve got family animations, political thrillers, and video game adaptations all competing for your attention. Whether you’re planning a cozy family weekend or diving into espionage action, this week’s releases deliver something for absolutely everyone.

The Three Netflix Must-Watch Releases This Week

The Twits: Roald Dahl’s Dark Comedy Comes to Life

Finally arriving on Netflix is the animated adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s novel. Featuring an impressive cast including Margo Martindale, Johnny Vegas, Natalie Portman, Emilia Clarke, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, The Twits brings Dahl’s twisted humor to animated life.

The Plot: When their town falls under control of the villainous Mr. and Mrs. Twit, two young orphans team up with magical animals to save the day. It’s quintessential Dahl—dark, funny, and surprisingly heartwarming.

Why It Matters: This is Netflix’s first animated adaptation of Roald Dahl’s work. The film balances adult humor with family-friendly storytelling, making it genuinely entertaining for multiple age groups. Perfect Saturday afternoon viewing.

The Diplomat Season 3: Political Intrigue Intensifies

If you haven’t been watching The Diplomat, you’re missing one of Netflix’s best political thrillers. Keri Russell absolutely carries this series as US diplomat Kate Wyler, and Season 3 raises the stakes dramatically.

What’s New: Season 3 picks up immediately after a presidential death, with Vice-President Grace Penn being sworn in. Kate must navigate an entirely new political landscape while uncovering dangerous conspiracies. Think West Wing meets high-stakes international espionage.

Cast Chemistry: Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, and Ato Essandoh support Russell with compelling performances. The political drama feels authentic without becoming preachy.

Binge Potential: 8 episodes, approximately 50 minutes each. Perfect for an intense weekend binge session.

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch: Sam Fisher Returns

For video game fans, this is the week you’ve been waiting for. FOST Studio brings the iconic Splinter Cell franchise to animated life, with Liev Schreiber voicing legendary spy Sam Fisher.

The Story: After years off the grid, Sam Fisher resurfaces for one last mission. Partnered with a new recruit, he unravels a dangerous global conspiracy. It’s spy thriller meets video game nostalgia.

Why Adapt It Now: Splinter Cell defined stealth gaming in the 2000s-2010s. This animated series respects the source material while creating something fresh. The animation captures the tension and precision that made the games legendary.

Quick Watch: 8 episodes × 24 minutes = Perfect for evening viewing without massive time commitment.
