Fifteen days in, and Akshay Kumar’s comedy drama is still standing tall at the box office — even if the pace has slowed to a comfortable stroll rather than a sprint. Welcome To The Jungle has now crossed the ₹115 crore mark in India, but industry watchers say the real story lies in what “success” means for a film carrying this much brand weight.

The movie collected ₹2.75 crore on its second Monday, marking a 35% drop from the previous Friday — a fairly standard weekday dip for a film in its second week.

Welcome To The Jungle: Box Office Collection Breakdown

Day	Collection
Week One	₹92.50 crore
2nd Friday	₹4.25 crore
2nd Saturday	₹7.25 crore
2nd Sunday	₹9.00 crore
2nd Monday	₹2.75 crore
Total	₹115.50 crore

Directed by Ahmed Khan, the film is on track to close its second week around ₹120 crore, with trends suggesting a full theatrical run finish north of ₹150 crore. That number would fall short of Bhooth Bangla’s lifetime haul, another Akshay Kumar release from recent memory.

Hit, Yes — But Underwhelming for the Brand

Here’s the nuance: with modest production costs compared to bigger-budget films like Housefull 5, Welcome To The Jungle is financially safe territory, likely to be classified a hit. But given that the original Welcome remains one of the biggest grossers in the franchise’s history, and even its underwhelming sequel opened strong, this installment’s numbers read as a step down for a brand once considered box office royalty.

Franchise fatigue and shifting audience tastes are common hurdles for legacy film series worldwide — a dynamic well documented in Wikipedia’s overview of sequel and franchise filmmaking.
