Vivo X Fold 6 Launched: Dimensity 9500, 7,000mAh Battery, and a 200MP Camera First

Vivo just raised the bar for what a foldable can pack inside its hinge. The Vivo X Fold 6 has officially launched in China, and it’s a genuine spec-sheet showcase — marking several firsts for the brand’s foldable lineup in one go.

Vivo X Fold 6 Launched: A Brand-First Chipset Switch

This marks the company’s first foldable smartphone to feature a MediaTek chipset, with previous generations relying on Snapdragon processors — alongside Vivo’s largest-ever foldable battery and the brand’s first 200-megapixel rear camera system on a foldable.

That’s a meaningful departure from Vivo’s foldable history. We tracked the brand’s earlier reliance on Snapdragon silicon through devices like the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, making this MediaTek pivot a notable strategic shift.

Display: Dual LTPO Panels, Both Hitting 5,000 Nits

The Vivo X Fold 6 features an 8.02-inch AMOLED foldable display with 2504 x 2312 resolution, a 1Hz to 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, Samsung M14 luminous material, up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, 1,920Hz PWM dimming and UTG protective glass. The outer display measures 6.51 inches with 2528 x 1120 resolution, the same LTPO refresh rate range, a BOE Q11 panel, and identical peak brightness.

Camera: The 200MP Zeiss-Backed Triple System

The rear camera setup comprises a 200-megapixel Samsung HPB primary camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 602 periscope telephoto camera with VCS technology and OIS. The system also supports the Vivo Zeiss Teleconverter G2 accessory. Both the cover and inner displays feature 20-megapixel selfie cameras.

Performance and Battery

Powering the foldable is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset paired with the Vivo V3+ imaging chip, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone packs a 7,000mAh Blue Ocean battery with third-generation solid-state battery technology, 80W wired charging, 40W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging. It runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16.

That 7,000mAh figure is genuinely massive for a foldable — comfortably ahead of the 4,800mAh battery on the original Vivo X Fold 2, showing just how far Vivo’s battery tech has progressed across just a few generations.

Pricing in China

The Vivo X Fold 6 is available in 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB, 16GB+1TB, and a Black Gold Edition with 16GB+1TB storage, priced at CNY 7,999 (~$1,175), CNY 8,999 (~$1,320), CNY 9,999 (~$1,470), CNY 10,999 (~$1,615), and CNY 11,299 (~$1,660) respectively. Buyers can choose from Blue Cave, Salt Lake, Extreme Night and Black Gold Edition colour options.

Global and India Availability

There is currently no information on a global launch. Vivo has a track record of eventually bringing its X Fold series to India, having previously launched the X Fold 3 Pro as the brand’s first India foldable, so an international rollout — even if delayed — wouldn’t be surprising.

For now, the X Fold 6 sets a new internal benchmark for Vivo’s foldable ambitions. For official specs and updates on a potential global release, keep an eye on Vivo’s official website.
