Sometimes a costume says more than a trailer. Vision’s new suit in Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series VisionQuest looks a lot like his outfit from the 2005 Young Avengers comics. That could be a hint that the android is heading toward a mentor role.

What the New Costume Looks Like Vision?

The suit is brighter than past versions. It features a yellow cape draped over the shoulders, a popped collar and a large red diamond on the chest. That diamond is the clearest nod to the comic design, which The Direct says makes the inspiration unmistakable.

Vision

The Comic Connection

In the 2005 comics, an amnesiac version of Vision was rebuilt by Iron Lad, a younger, heroic version of Kang. That Vision developed his own identity, calling himself Jonas, and joined the Young Avengers. His brain patterns were based on Iron Lad’s, and he even made himself look younger to fit the team. The MCU version won’t do that, but the design echo is clear.

A Mentor in the Making?

The series follows Vision years after Westview, struggling with memories that feel like they belong to someone else. His son Tommy’s arrival pulls him out of hiding and sets him on a quest to save him. By the end of that journey, the new costume may signal a Vision who has found a new purpose.

Technically, he would be younger than any member of the prospective team. Even so, he’d be the closest thing they have to an adult. His inherited experiences, including his willingness to sacrifice himself against Thanos, give him unique insight into heroism.

What’s Next?

A Young Avengers team has been teased since The Marvels, when Kamala Khan recruited Kate Bishop. Whether Vision, Tommy and the team show up in Avengers: Secret Wars depends on how big a role Marvel gives them, and nothing is confirmed.
