Suriya’s “Vishwanath & Sons” just proved something rare: a Tamil film winning bigger in Telugu states than at home. On its second Friday, the film held steady and is set to enter the Rs. 100 crore club by tonight.

The Numbers So Far on Vishwanath & Sons?

The film added Rs. 4.50 crore on its second Friday, pushing its 8-day running total to Rs. 95.75 crore gross. Trade estimates suggest the second weekend will wrap around Rs. 15-17 crore, taking the total cume to roughly Rs. 105 crore.

The Real Story: Telugu States Are Carrying It

Directed by Venky Atluri, the film is originally Tamil, but the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana (APTS) circuit has out-earned Tamil Nadu itself — a rare reversal for a regional release.

Territory	Gross
Tamil Nadu	Rs. 36.25 cr
APTS	Rs. 40.50 cr
Karnataka	Rs. 11.50 cr
Kerala	Rs. 6.50 cr
Rest of India	Rs. 1.25 cr
India Total	Rs. 95.75 cr

What’s Next

With Karnataka and Kerala also holding up well, “Vishwanath & Sons” looks set to close its second weekend comfortably past the Rs. 100 crore mark. But the real test comes next week, when it faces stiff competition from Toxic, which could eat into its screen count and daily numbers.
