Vijay’s Last Film Won’t Let Black Marketing Steal Its Spotlight

Some superstars leave their farewell film to fate. Thalapathy Vijay is leaving nothing to chance.

As anticipation builds for Jana Nayagan, reports suggest Vijay has personally instructed his team to clamp down on ticket price violations before they even become a problem. The concern: black ticketing, inflated pricing, and unofficial benefit-show charges that have plagued past blockbuster releases featuring his massive fan base.

According to Gulte, authorities may closely monitor theatres during the film’s release window, and any venue caught overcharging could reportedly face serious consequences, including licence cancellation. It’s a preemptive move that acknowledges a hard truth: extraordinary fan demand has, historically, invited extraordinary exploitation.

Jana Nayagan: Overview

Why This Matters More Than Usual

This isn’t just another release — Jana Nayagan is widely being called Vijay’s swan song before he transitions fully into his political career with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. That alone guarantees the kind of frenzied turnout that has, in the past, created fertile ground for black marketing in cities across Tamil Nadu.

By pushing for transparency now, Vijay seems intent on ensuring his final theatrical moment is remembered for the film itself — not for controversy over who paid what to get in the door. Considering the film has already weathered leaks and certification delays on its way to theatres, protecting this last chapter clearly matters to him.
