Vijay’s “Jana Nayagan” Refuses To Slow Down — Even On A Monday

Farewell films are supposed to fade after the opening rush. Thalapathy Vijay’s “Jana Nayagan” clearly didn’t get that memo — even on its second Monday, the numbers are still climbing.

Jana Nayagan: The Numbers So Far

Jana Nayagan has earned Rs 175.6 crore net at the Indian box office in 11 days, which equals Rs 207.22 crore gross. Overseas, it has scored Rs 91 crore gross, taking the film’s overall worldwide total to Rs 298.22 crore gross in 11 days.

A Strong Second Weekend Hold

Rather than the usual second-week slump, the film actually picked up steam. Jana Nayagan earned an estimated Rs 10.70 crore net in India on Day 11, marking a 37.2 percent increase compared to its Rs 7.80 crore net collection on the second Saturday. The second weekend began with Rs 3.55 crore on Friday before climbing to Rs 7.80 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.70 crore on Sunday.

Language-wise, Tamil remains the primary driver at Rs 151.45 crore net, while the Hindi dubbed version has added roughly Rs 15.25 crore and Telugu around Rs 8.90 crore.

A Record-Setting Run For Vijay

This release also cements a historic streak for the star himself. Thalapathy Vijay has become the only Indian actor to have three consecutive films — Leo, The Greatest of All Time, and Jana Nayagan — cross the 1 million ticket mark in advance bookings alone on BookMyShow, with Jana Nayagan’s pre-sales alone accounting for 1.18 million tickets.

What’s Next

The film is now just a few crores away from crossing the coveted Rs 300 crore worldwide mark, a milestone expected within days given the steady weekend surge. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film continues to dominate as one of the biggest Tamil cinema releases of the year.
