Victor Osimhen considering legal action against Napoli after TikTok mockery

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could take legal action against his club after the recent videos posted on the club’s TikTok. Although they have since been taken down, people saw the videos and there has been significant backlash surrounding the issue, especially since the mockery hinged in terms of race.

The Nigerian almost single-handedly dragged Napoli to their third-ever Scudetto last year while forming an impressive partnership with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Luciano Spalletti left the club at the end of the season after disagreements with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, and Rudi Garcia has now been put in charge after he was sacked by Al Nassr.

“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted”.

“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news”.

“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor,” Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda said in an official statement.

The striker went on to start the match score last night as the Azzurri defeated Udinese 4-1. He has also deleted any posts on his Instagram that mentioned or referenced Napoli.

“We were frustrated after the draw vs Bologna, then some awkward things on social media didn’t help us in the last two days,” Garcia said after the game. He had a tough exchange with Osimhen after he was substituted in the final minutes during the draw with Bologna, which further fuelled issues behind the scenes.

“I spoke to Victor, it’s key to have him focused on the game — he’s gonna do his best for Napoli”.
