VenkyAnil5 Isn’t What The Internet Thought It Was

Rumors move fast in Tollywood, and this one moved faster than most. A viral Instagram post claimed VenkyAnil5 — the much-awaited Venkatesh Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram entertainer — was secretly a remake of the Malayalam hit Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. Turns out, that’s not true, and it took just one comment from the film’s own leading lady to shut it down.

Actress Keerthy Suresh, who stars in the film, directly responded to the claim online, clarifying that VenkyAnil5 is not a remake of the Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer. Simple, quick, and straight from the cast.

Here’s what we actually know about the project so far:

Why VenkyAnil5 Confusion Made Sense (For a Moment)

Malayalam-to-Telugu remakes have been common enough in recent years that fans jumping to conclusions isn’t surprising — especially with a film this hyped and still short on plot details. The makers have kept the story tightly under wraps, only describing it as a “clean, wholesome” festive entertainer blending comedy and family drama, which left just enough of a gap for speculation to fill.

What makes VenkyAnil5 genuinely notable, though, isn’t the rumor — it’s the reunion. This marks Anil Ravipudi‘s fifth collaboration with Venkatesh after hits like F2 and F3, and his first film with Kalyan Ram since his directorial debut Pataas back in 2015. That combination alone is generating buzz independent of any remake talk.
