Uyir OTT Release: Here’s Exactly When You Can Stream It

Missed Roshan Mathew’s mystery drama Uyir on the big screen? Good news — the film is heading to streaming soon, and it’s bringing its multilingual audience along with it. Here’s everything you need to know before it drops.

When and Where to Watch Uyir?

Uyir will begin streaming on JioHotstar from August 4, 2026. The film released in theatres on June 26, 2026, and while it received mixed-to-negative reviews overall, the performances were widely praised — which might explain why anticipation for its OTT run hasn’t cooled off. Beyond the original Malayalam, viewers can catch it dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, making it accessible to a much wider audience than its theatrical run allowed.

What’s the Story About?

Uyir follows Ajeeb Rahman, a probationary police officer still haunted by his younger sister’s unresolved childhood disappearance. When the decomposed body of an unidentified woman turns up in an abandoned well, Ajeeb and his colleague Joy investigate and identify her as Shobha, a local labourer, through a tattoo. What looks like a suicide slowly unravels into something far more complicated, pulling Ajeeb toward Shobha’s estranged husband Raju and a trail that spans multiple states. As the case deepens, it starts mirroring his own sister’s disappearance, turning the investigation into something deeply personal.

Directed by M. Padmakumar, known for Mamangam, the film features Roshan Mathew alongside Saiyami Kher, Baiju Santhosh, Divya M. Nair, and others, with music by Charles Nazareth and Manikandan Ayyappa.
