Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox in 2023 and Beyond

Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox: All You Need to Know

After last Sunday’s Xbox titles Showcase, where it finally delivered a tasty preview of an outstanding roster of first-party titles, Microsoft came out swinging. Given all of the investments made to purchase or create studios, that was likely to happen at some point, and it may come a little later than Microsoft’s original timeline suggested. However, the COVID epidemic impacted everyone hard and most games were likely delayed by at least a half-year, if not a full year, depending on the nature of the project.

Here are the Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox

Starfield – Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox

As the Starfield countdown clock approaches September, our vision of Bethesda’s open-world space RPG becomes clearer. After years of hints and promises since Starfield’s 2018 announcement, we’ve got a fresh infusion of information with the new Starfield Direct that accompanied the summer showcase schedule. We got to see sections of every part of Starfield and sample the tasty subsystems that have been veiled in mystery so far.

With Sony, Activision, and now Microsoft boosting the standard game price to $70, gaming appears to be on a downward spiral.  Starfield will likewise cost $70, with this price remaining the new standard rather than a temporary surge. Fortunately, Microsoft has made it a habit of releasing its latest AAA titles on Xbox Game Pass right away. Starfield has been announced as a Game Pass day one feature.

Avowed – Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox

Avowed has been lurking in the shadows since its 2020 debut, leaving us wondering when the ageless delight of sword and sorcery spelunking would return. Patience, on the other hand, is rewarded. We’ve finally gotten our first glimpse at Avowed’s colorful fantasy world, as well as the many crushable skeletons available in its Pillars of Eternity scenario.

We don’t have a definite date or even a seasonal frame yet. But, after three years of waiting, it’s comforting to know that Avowed is still on its way. Obsidian is also working on an Outer Worlds sequel, but since Avowed received a broad release date first, we expect the space sequel to arrive later.

Clockwork Revolution – Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox

Clockwork Revolution, a forthcoming title from InXile Entertainment, was just announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023. The steampunk title was one of the more intriguing future releases of the showcase, with a brief two-minute teaser revealing what the studio has been up to. InXile, known for producing high-quality RPGs, appears to have drawn inspiration from Dishonoured and Bioshock: Infinite in both the general art style of Avalon (the game’s city setting) and various time-manipulating game features.

The game also appears to have political overtones, implying that there may be numerous factions and ideas to choose from. The player’s actions appear to have visible and lasting impacts on the world around them, similar to how players were able to shape the result of the game world in Dying Light 2. The game’s release date is unclear, with the teaser just implying that it would be ready “in due course.”

Fable – Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox

Fable does not yet have a release date. We’re still waiting for an official release date to be announced. We haven’t seen any gameplay, so it’s probably still a while away. In July 2020, Fable made its premiere with a reveal trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase. it’s more than likely just a fun cinematic that doesn’t reveal much about the final game. However, it has that familiar feel of Tolkien-like fantasy being trampled on by the ugly realities of medieval life.

According to a 2018 Eurogamer story, Playground had been working on Fable 4 with a staff of roughly 200 people for a few years. Playground built a new Warwickshire studio, particularly for it, so this isn’t a minor Fable spinoff.

Elder Scroll 6 – Upcoming RPG Games for PC and Xbox

If Bethesda’s words are to be believed, the Elder Scrolls 6 release date is certainly a long way off. The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a complete mystery after being revealed almost five years ago, yet there are hints as to what it might be like upon launch.

What we can confirm is that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in development and will be Bethesda Game Studios’ next release following the release of Starfield for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This suggests that the earliest likely release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 is 2025/2026, however, it could arrive even later at this time.
