Upcoming Marvel Games 2023 and Beyond

Upcoming Marvel Games: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Marvel’s Wolverine, and a Black Panther video game are three of the largest confirmed titles so far, giving Marvel fans a lot to look forward to in terms of video games in 2023 and beyond. The majority of future games have very little information, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 still taking the stage. Although some of these ideas may still be years away due to the erratic nature of game development, fans should nonetheless soon feel some satisfaction.

The heroes who will guide their travels have mostly been disclosed in the games that have been announced, although there is at least one game that is still in development that hasn’t had any specific details made public.

Marvel games have seen a rebirth since the 2018 release of Marvel’s Spider-Man. In 2020, Insomniac Games released Spider-Man: Miles Morales as a spin-off to its initial Spider-Man game, while Square-Enix released Marvel’s Avengers and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy to varying degrees of success.

The lone release in the last two years will be Marvel’s Midnight Suns in 2022, but the amount of projects now in development suggests that there will be regular releases in the years to come. Six Marvel superhero-themed video games are currently known to be in development by Insomniac Games, EA, and Skydance New Media.

Here are the Upcoming Marvel Games coming in 2023 and beyond

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

The open-world New York setting of Marvel’s Spider-Man and the spinoff Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales featured two different renditions of the friendly neighborhood superhero. In the follow-up, in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, both Spider-Mans will be playable and battle bad guys like Venom and Kraven the Hunter.

Fans may realize their web-slinging ambitions by traversing a freshly extended version of the metropolis faster than ever before and wearing a wingsuit. On October 20, 2023, the game will debut as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Marvel’s Wolverine

Marvel’s Wolverine was also revealed at the same time as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during the 2021 PlayStation Showcase and will only be available on the PlayStation 5. There are very few details available about the title, as only one teaser trailer has been released. However, it’s exciting to learn that Insomniac’s Wolverine game will take place in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man. Wolverine is a strong enough character to carry the experience regardless of whether Peter Parker and Miles Morales appear in the game.

Marvel’s Iron Man Game (Untitled)

Iron Man is one of the most well-known Marvel superheroes thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, and despite having only a few modest tie-in games and a VR experience to date, a huge AAA project has long looked inevitable. Under the direction of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy director Olivier Proulx, the upcoming project is being worked on by Motive Studio, a division of EA that also produced the Dead Space reboot and Star Wars: Squadrons. Utilizing the intriguing figure of Tony Stark and bringing his high-tech suit skills to life may make for an engaging experience. The film is expected to include an original story.

Untitled Marvel’s Black Panther Game

The recently unveiled open-world Black Panther game aims to immerse players in the vibrant setting of Wakanda. This project is another significant one from EA. While T’Challa’s home has been compellingly depicted in comic books, movies, and even some earlier games, being able to fully explore it might offer a new level of involvement and immersion.

The recently established Cliffhanger Games firm, run by a former studio head of Monolith Productions, which produced games like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and F.E.A.R., is producing the Black Panther game.

Skydance Black Panther Game

Skydance New Media’s story-driven Marvel game, directed by former Uncharted director Amy Hennig, features an ensemble cast and is set during World War 2. The Skydance New Media game promises a Wakanda setting amid a historical Paris, just like the upcoming Black Panther game.

Alongside Steve Rogers as Captain America, T’Challa’s ancestor Azzuri assumes the role of Black Panther, while the supporting cast is completed by Nanali and Gabriel Jones. Although the game’s gameplay has not yet been released, fans who are looking for a change of pace from Marvel products’ more typical modern setting may find it to be an intriguing experience.
