What Happened Ringside?

After defeating Makhmudov, Fury turned to the crowd and laid down a blunt challenge: “I want you, AJ. Let’s give the fight fans what they want.” Joshua, watching from the audience, didn’t shy away — he told reporters contracts would be sent over and they’d “probably” be seen in the ring next.

Both fighters have competed in heavyweight boxing at the highest level for over a decade. Both have held world titles. Both have fought on Netflix. The platform’s global reach — and its existing relationship with both camps — makes it the obvious home for this fight.

Will It Be on Netflix?

Netflix UK actually tweeted “It’s happening. Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua” — before Joshua quickly clarified no contracts had been signed, and the post was community noted. A little premature, but it tells you everything about where the streamer’s ambitions lie.

Given that both fighters recently competed on Netflix and the platform has invested heavily in live boxing, the expectation is strong that Fury vs Joshua lands there. Netflix live events are included at no extra cost with a standard subscription — a massive advantage for casual viewers compared to traditional PPV. One complicating factor: Joshua has suggested he may want a warm-up fight first. He’s been recovering since a serious road accident in early 2026 that tragically claimed the lives of two close friends. He wants to return at 100% — which means the Fury mega-fight could still be a few months away.

Conclusion

No contracts, no official date — but both men have all but said yes in public. The money is enormous, Netflix wants it, the fans want it, and after 10 years of near-misses, the signs have never pointed more firmly toward this fight actually happening. Stay tuned to TechnoSports for confirmed updates the moment contracts are signed.
