The Witcher Season 3 has started its production which was recently being announced by Netflix. The streaming platform i.e. Netflix simultaneously has also shared a small sneak peek of the plot summary for the next couple of episodes.
The Witcher Season 3: Plot synopsis
The Witcher Season 3 plot synopsis reads, “As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line–or risk losing each other forever.”
Production
It was reported earlier this year in the month of January that the show The Witcher Season 3 was gearing up to start its production. The creative team of the series The Witcher Season 3 has also released several series of Instagram posts. The second season of the series The Witcher was released on Netflix in December 2021. It is quite natural and not at all shocking that the production of season 3 has begun so early after the release of the second installment.
In December, while Hissrich was doing press for the second installment of the series he said that he has completed writing for the next season. Earlier Hissrich has made an announcement in the month of October 2021 and has said, Season 3 will “follow a particular book [in the Witcher novel series] very closely… [it] has a lot of action, some death.” Hissrich also said that the next season will be “really fun.”
Recently, further adding to the main series, Netflix has also released an animated movie The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Meanwhile, a prequel live-action series named The Witcher: Blood origin is all on its way.
While talking about Witcher and the number three, The last game of Witcher that was released was named Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt in 2015. In late March it was finally revealed that a new Witcher game is in development, and it has also come to know that it will use Unreal Engine 5.
