From France to Spain — What’s Season 3 About?

Seasons 1 and 2 took Daryl and Carol on a gritty, zombie-filled tour through the ruins of France. Season 3 changes the scenery entirely, shifting the post-apocalyptic action to Spain as our favourite crossbow-wielding duo continues their desperate push to find a way back home to the United States.

It’s a fresh backdrop for a show that has consistently surprised fans who thought The Walking Dead universe had nothing left to offer. If you love post-apocalyptic survival dramas on Netflix, this season is unmissable.

For context on the franchise’s long history, The Walking Dead is one of the most expansive post-apocalyptic fiction universes in television history — and Daryl Dixon has been at its heart since day one.

Why Is It Coming to Netflix So Fast?

Thanks to the ongoing and deeply fruitful licensing partnership between AMC Networks and Netflix, the window between AMC broadcast and Netflix streaming appears to be shrinking even further. It’s a win for subscribers who want quality AMC content without juggling yet another streaming subscription.

Is Season 3 the Last One?

Not quite — but the end is near.

AMC officially renewed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for a fourth season back in July 2025 at San Diego Comic-Con. However, season 4 has been confirmed as the show’s final season. Even more poignant: Norman Reedus and the crew recently wrapped production on the final episodes in June 2026, marking an emotional end to his 16-year run playing the iconic survivor.

Binging Season 3 on Netflix this July is the perfect way to prepare for the endgame. Check out our complete guide to what’s coming to Netflix in July 2026 to plan your watchlist.

Which Regions Get It on Netflix?

The July 19th release date currently applies exclusively to Netflix US. In regions like the UK, Australia, and parts of Europe, the spin-offs are often locked into exclusive deals with local broadcasters or alternative streaming platforms.
