The Vvaan Advance Booking Report: Can Sidharth Malhotra’s Mythological Thriller Cross Rs 7 Crore on Day 1?

Just hours before its big screen debut, The Vvaan is quietly building momentum — and Bihar is leading the charge. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, this mythological fantasy drama is banking on festive sentiment, supernatural intrigue, and a Chhath Puja backdrop to pull audiences in on opening day.

How the Advance Booking Stacks Up?

The film has sold over 35,000 tickets across India’s top national chains — PVR Inox and Cinepolis — for its Day 1 release. But the real story is unfolding outside the multiplexes. Single-screen bookings, particularly in Bihar, are outperforming national trends, largely thanks to the film’s cultural rooting in Chhath Puja, a festival deeply significant to the region.

Based on current trends, trade estimates peg The Vvaan for an opening day collection of around Rs 7 crore net — a number that would put it on par with Sidharth Malhotra’s earlier 2026 release, Param Sundari.

Why Bihar Is the Film’s Biggest Bet?

Unlike typical urban-multiplex-driven openers, The Vvaan is leaning into its regional connect. With Chhath Puja forming the emotional backbone of the story, Bihar’s single-screen advance is significantly stronger than what national chains are showing — a pattern trade analysts often associate with films that strike a genuine cultural chord rather than relying purely on star power.

That said, the film’s real test begins after release. As with most mid-range openers, word-of-mouth will decide whether Day 1 numbers translate into a strong weekend or a quick fade.

The Elephant in the Room: Avengers Endgame Encore

The Vvaan isn’t releasing in isolation. It faces direct competition from the re-release of Avengers: Endgame, which has already clocked strong advance sales of its own in India. Big Hollywood re-releases tend to draw dedicated fan crowds on opening weekend, meaning The Vvaan will need solid content and regional support to hold its ground at the box office.

For context, mythological and folklore-driven storytelling has a long history in Indian cinema — a genre rooted in adapting elements of Hindu mythology for mainstream audiences, something The Vvaan appears to be tapping into with its supernatural, destiny-driven narrative.
