If you love a slow-burn story where music heals old wounds, mark your calendar. Wavve has released a new poster and teaser for The Sound of Sugar Cubes, a boys’ love (BL) drama that already has fans curious about what happened in its lead character’s past.
What Is the Story About?
The drama is based on a popular BL web novel of the same name. It follows Han Yul, a man who gave up singing after a painful event and has been living in hiding ever since. His quiet life changes when he meets Lee Won, a composer with a dangerous, hard-to-read air. Lee Won encourages him to sing again, and slowly becomes deeply involved in his life. Han Yul begins making music once more, faces the past he has avoided for years, and gradually opens his heart.

Meet the Leads
Cho Chan Hyun plays Lee Won, the mysterious composer. Fans can catch him in Seasons of Blossom on Viki while they wait for the premiere.
Yoo Dohyun, a former member of the boy group MIRAE, takes on Han Yul. He is known for his strong vocals, and this drama marks his acting debut. Casting a singer as a character who must find his voice again is a clever touch.
What the Teaser Reveals?
The teaser hints that Lee Won and Han Yul share a connection stretching back years. Han Yul introduces himself under a different name, and Lee Won responds as if he has been searching for him for a long time. Lee Won then pushes him to audition for a singing competition, suggesting it’s the only way to help a friend reclaim his song, and asks whether he’ll run away again.
The teaser then cuts to a flashback of Han Yul in a school uniform, hiding behind a door while another student is beaten. That one scene raises a big question: what really happened, and why did it silence him? The poster’s tagline carries the same message, inviting him to sing again with his own voice.
Why It’s Worth Watching?
Music-driven romances work best when the songs carry real emotion, and this one has trauma, mystery, and a comeback arc all in one. If you enjoy more trending drama stories on Technosports, add this to your watchlist before the premiere.
