The Remarried Empress: Lee Jong Suk’s Heinrey Walks Into the Eastern Empire With a Smile, a Sword and Secrets

Disney+’s fantasy romance The Remarried Empress has released new stills of Lee Jong Suk as Heinrey, the prince of the Western Empire. The images show a man who is warm in one frame and sharp in the next, and they hint that nobody knows what he really wants. The drama is set to release on November 4.

The Remarried Empress: Overview

What Is the Story?

Navier is the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire. Her husband, Emperor Sovieshu, cheats on her and then divorces her. Her answer is bold: she marries Heinrey, the prince of the Western Empire. What follows is a clash between two empires, a broken marriage and a new love that may not be as simple as it looks.

Heinrey’s Big Entrance

The new stills show Heinrey’s full-fledged arrival at the imperial court. He visits the Eastern Empire as part of a delegation for the New Year’s celebration. In one image, he has a sharp gaze and a firm grip on a sword. In another, he wears a relaxed smile inside the palace. Together, they show a character with two very different sides.

A Prince Hard to Read

The most interesting part is how Heinrey behaves around different people. He openly shows his feelings to Navier, and his affectionate gaze toward her suggests real warmth. Yet his true intentions are hard to read. Around Sovieshu, he turns cold. Lee Jong Suk reportedly shows these shifts in “emotional temperature” through small changes in his expressions and eyes.

What the Creators Say?

Director Jo Soo Won said this was a side of Lee Jong Suk that audiences haven’t seen, and praised how well he conveyed the nuances in his gaze. Writer Yeo Ji Na said he made the role of Heinrey, the man who shows Navier a new world, completely his own. For more on the actor, see Lee Jong-suk on Wikipedia.

What to Watch For?

Heinrey’s arrival is expected to change the relationships among Navier, Sovieshu and Rashta. That makes it a key point to follow once the drama begins. With a strong cast and a hit web novel behind it, the show has plenty of reasons to draw viewers.
