Netflix’s Dutch thriller The Perfect Lie (De Eetclub) has quickly climbed the platform’s Top 10, and fans are already asking the big question: is a Season 2 on the way? Here’s everything that points to a comeback.

Has Netflix Renewed The Perfect Lie?

Not yet. Netflix hasn’t made an official announcement, but the finale leaves major threads dangling — enough to suggest the story is far from finished.

Unresolved Cliffhangers From Season 1

Hanneke’s fall — she’s found badly injured after a balcony fall, and her attacker is never revealed.
The hooded figure — a mysterious presence lurking throughout the series with motives left unexplained.
Simon’s money laundering — his illegal dealings spiral further out of control.
Patricia’s secrets — she knows more than she admits, and her powerful family looms large.

The Perfect Lie: The Books Give Netflix a Built-In Roadmap

Author Saskia Noort, who wrote the original novel De Eetclub, didn’t stop at one book. She followed up with two sequels that could directly shape future seasons.

Book	Focus	Season Potential
De Eetclub	Source for Season 1	Already adapted
Debet	Karen, 10 years later, facing financial ruin and danger	Likely basis for Season 2
De nazaten	Shifts to the next generation	Possible Season 3 material

In Debet, Karen returns to a world of hidden money and dangerous people — with Patricia’s family playing a bigger role, tying neatly into where Season 1 left off.

Why a Renewal Looks Likely

Netflix Netherlands went all-in on promoting the show, even placing artwork on a Dutch beach for the premiere. That level of marketing muscle usually signals a title the streamer wants to turn into a long-running local hit.
