What Makes The Murky Stream Special?

Disney’s ‘The Murky Stream’ veers away from typical South Korean period pieces to focus on a different side of dynastic Korea: its underclass of gangsters and laborers. This fresh perspective on historical Korean drama sets it apart from conventional period pieces.

The series follows three interconnected characters: Si-yool (Rowoon), a man with a hidden past who becomes a gangster; Choi Eun (Shin Ye-eun), an intelligent and righteous woman; and Jeong-cheon (Park Seo-ham), who dreams of becoming an honest government official in corrupt times.

Expected Release Pattern for Episodes 4-5

Based on Disney+’s typical K-drama release strategy and industry standards, episodes 4-5 are expected to follow a weekly release schedule. This means fans can likely expect:

Subsequent episodes: Weekly releases every Thursday
Viewing time: Available globally on Disney+ at midnight KST

The series premiered with a strong opening, having Sep 18, 2025 (Episode 1-2 premiere | Festival) at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival before its official streaming debut.

What to Expect in Upcoming Episodes

The initial episodes established the gritty world of Joseon Dynasty’s underclass, focusing on corruption and survival themes. Episodes 4-5 are expected to:
