Back in January 2026, Netflix renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for a fifth season without mentioning it would be the final one — making the May 13 confirmation a genuine surprise for fans. However, the creators were quick to frame it as a planned ending, not a cancellation.

Showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said: “All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us. From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion. What Is Season 5 About?

Season 5 is inspired by the seventh book in Michael Connelly’s series, Resurrection Walk, and will consist of 10 episodes.

The story follows Mickey Haller as he enlists help to prove the innocence of a woman wrongfully convicted of killing her ex-husband. After getting a wrongfully convicted man out of prison, Mickey is inundated with pleas from incarcerated people claiming innocence — and must figure out which cases are real.

Season 5 also picks up directly from the Season 4 cliffhanger, in which Mickey was pushed to safety by a woman who claims to be his sister, Emi Finch — a mystery the final season will explore.

Full Season 5 Cast

The main returning cast includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, Becki Newton as Lorna, Jazz Raycole as Izzy, and Angus Sampson as Cisco. Cobie Smulders, introduced in the Season 4 finale, has been promoted to a full series regular.

Six new recurring guest stars have also been confirmed: Amy Aquino as Judge Olivia Alcott, Angela Trimbur as Felicia, Elpidia Carrillo as Muriel Perez, Nate Corddry as Jimmy Finch, Tricia Helfer as Brooke Miller, and Keir O’Donnell as DDA Lucas Peralta.

When Does Season 5 Release on Netflix?

Filming kicked off in Los Angeles in March 2026. If the show sticks to its usual production pattern, Season 5 is expected to hit Netflix sometime between winter and spring of 2027. No official premiere date has been confirmed yet.
