Sardaar 2 Box Office: Karthi Starrer Sees Steep 50% Drop on Day 2, Struggles Past Rs. 7.50 Crore

Sardaar 2 isn’t off to the start its makers were hoping for. The Karthi and SJ Suryah-led spy action drama took a hard hit on its second day, dropping a steep 50% and raising real concerns about its theatrical run ahead.

Sardaar 2: Box Office Snapshot

The film added just Rs. 2.50 crore on Day 2, down sharply from its Day 1 opening, bringing its two-day total to Rs. 7.50 crore gross in India. That kind of drop this early typically signals weak word-of-mouth rather than temporary market noise.

Where the Film Is Performing

Why the Film Is Struggling

Sardaar 2 is facing direct competition from Soori-starrer Mandaadi, which currently dominates the box office landscape, adding further pressure on an already soft opening. More critically, the film has received average word-of-mouth from audiences, a factor that’s largely responsible for its inability to hold ground beyond opening day. Industry trends suggest strong reception typically cushions a film’s decline, and its absence here has made the drop even sharper than expected.

About Sardaar 2

The sequel expands on the spy universe introduced in the original Sardar, tracing the origin story of spy Sardar in flashback while his son Vijay confronts a new antagonist, Black Dagger, in the present timeline. Karthi leads the ensemble alongside SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Rajisha Vijayan, and Yogi Babu, with music by Sam CS.
