What to Expect From Episodes 7–9?
Episode 7 — “The Ghosts of Whitestone” brings Vox Machina back to one of the most emotionally loaded locations in all of Exandria. Whitestone is Percy de Rolo’s home — a city with a brutal history of occupation, bloodshed, and personal trauma. After everything Percy and his family have endured there, the question on every Critter’s mind is the same: what could possibly be waiting for them now? Expect heavy Percy moments and plenty of ghosts — some literal, some not.

Episode 8 — “The Bard’s Lament” puts the spotlight squarely on Scanlan Shorthalt, Vox Machina’s fast-talking gnome bard and fan favourite. A lament episode for a bard is never just about music — expect emotional depth, unresolved threads, and the kind of Scanlan moment that makes audiences remember why they love this show.
Episode 9 — “The Temple of Truth” suggests the team is closing in on answers — and possibly a confrontation with the season’s ancient awakened evil. The title alone signals that secrets long buried in Exandria are about to surface.
Season 4 takes place about a year after the events of Season 3, after a terribly ancient evil arises in Exandria and brings Scanlan, Pike, Grog, Keyleth, Vax, Vex, and Percy back together — alongside newcomer Taryon Darrington, voiced by Wayne Brady. Travis Willingham has already said Wayne Brady simply runs away with the season — and these three episodes will likely show us why. Popverse
