Every jaw-dropping performance has a secret weapon working behind the scenes. In Dhurandhar: The Revenge, that weapon is Preetisheel Singh D’Souza — the National Award-winning makeup, hair, and prosthetic designer who sculpted Ranveer Singh’s bone-chilling look as Hamza Ali Mazari. Let’s break down the genius behind Bollywood’s most talked-about transformation of 2026.
Who Is Preetisheel Singh D’Souza?
Preetisheel isn’t a new name in the industry — she’s a certified legend. Co-owner of the renowned Da Makeup Lab alongside Mark D’Souza, she has spent decades building some of Hindi cinema’s most iconic looks. Her résumé speaks for itself:
| Film | Actor | Transformation |
|---|---|---|
| Bajirao Mastani | Ranveer Singh | Period warrior look |
| Padmaavat | Ranveer Singh | Alauddin Khilji’s fierce avatar |
| Gangubai Kathiawadi | Alia Bhatt | Vintage Kamathipura look |
| Jawan | Shah Rukh Khan | Dual-character design |
| Dhurandhar / The Revenge | Ranveer Singh | Spy-to-gang & ghost avatar |
From corporate life to becoming Bollywood’s most sought-after transformation specialist — Preetisheel’s journey is nothing short of cinematic itself.
The Craft Behind Hamza Ali Mazari’s Look
Creating Ranveer’s look for Dhurandhar: The Revenge was no small feat. Preetisheel revealed she had to strike a careful balance — making it cinematic without being distracting. Her approach tracked Hamza’s entire character journey, from the rugged rawness of his spy persona to his terrifying ghost incarnation.
Key techniques used included adding freckles to Ranveer’s face, altering his skin tone, and crafting unkempt hair — all requiring nearly 1.5 hours of prep every single day. The result? A look the internet simply couldn’t stop talking about.

Why This Matters for Bollywood?
Makeup artists like Preetisheel are the unsung heroes of big-budget films. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is on course to cross ₹900 crore at the Indian box office — and a significant portion of its visual impact owes itself to Preetisheel’s artistry.
