Some actors wait for direction. Yoon Kyung Ho went out and built his own. Ahead of Tazza 4: The Song of Beelzebub‘s September release, the actor opened up about how he personally shaped one of the franchise’s most chilling new characters, right down to the accent.

The Tazza franchise returns after a six-year gap, following Jang Tae Young, who built an online casino empire only to have it stolen by his own best friend. Their reunion in the world of global gambling sets up a high-stakes revenge story, and Yoon Kyung Ho’s character sits right at its center.

Who Is Jo Joong Hwan

Yoon Kyung Ho plays Jo Joong Hwan, an international fixer who doesn’t just handle jobs for his clients, he handles the cleanup after, with Abraham, played by rapper Swings, working under him. It’s a role built entirely on quiet menace, the kind of character whose presence alone signals danger.

How The Role Came Together

The casting process started with a lengthy personal message from director Choi Kook Hee, who told Yoon Kyung Ho that Jo Joong Hwan carries both the beginning and end of the story. The actor said he felt genuine pressure alongside the excitement, given how central the character is to the film’s structure.

The Detail That Made It All Click

Yoon Kyung Ho didn’t stop at just playing the part as written. After seeing Jo Joong Hwan’s slicked-back hairstyle, he started imagining a fuller backstory and suggested blending Pyeongyang and Pyeongan Province dialects into the character’s speech, a choice meant to hint at a journey from North Korea to Vietnam without ever spelling it out. He brought the idea directly to the director on set, and it stuck. As he explained, he wanted Jo Joong Hwan to feel like someone shaped by unseen hardship, someone whose past remains a mystery even as his presence dominates every scene.

Newly released stills show the character sitting in a car under Vietnam’s harsh sunlight, his gaze cold and unreadable, exactly the atmosphere Yoon Kyung Ho was aiming for.
