Fashion enthusiasts and movie buffs, get ready to step back into the glamorous world of high fashion! Bridgerton actress Simone Ashley has joined the cast of 20th Century Studios’ The Devil Wears Prada 2, bringing her undeniable charm to the sequel that’s already generating massive buzz across Hollywood.

The announcement comes as production is in full swing for the long-awaited follow-up to the 2006 cultural phenomenon that made “cerulean blue” a household term and turned Miranda Priestly into one of cinema’s most iconic characters.

What We Know About The Devil Wears Prada 2

The sequel will see Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, grappling with the current state of the print industry, which is struggling due to the rise of digital media. This contemporary twist promises to explore how the fashion industry has evolved in the digital age while maintaining the sharp wit and drama that made the original so memorable.

Miranda’s previous assistant, Emily Charlton (Blunt), is now a rival and prominent executive in the fashion world, and the two will compete for ad revenue. This dynamic shift from mentor-assistant to rivals sets up what could be the most compelling fashion face-off in cinematic history.

The Star-Studded Cast

Kenneth Branagh will play the husband of Meryl Streep’s steely editor Miranda Priestly, adding another layer of complexity to the fashion mogul’s personal life. Meanwhile, details of Ashley’s role are still under wraps, but her addition to the cast has already sparked speculation about what fresh perspective she’ll bring to the fashion world drama.

Why Simone Ashley is Perfect for This Role

Known for her breakout performance as Kate Bridgerton in Netflix’s period drama sensation, Ashley brings both elegance and strength to her roles. Her ability to navigate complex character dynamics and deliver emotionally resonant performances makes her an ideal addition to the Prada universe.

The British actress has proven her versatility across genres, from period romance to contemporary drama, making her a natural fit for the sophisticated world of high fashion that The Devil Wears Prada is known for.
