The Malaysia Event

Vijay attended Jana Nayagan audio launch at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur on December 27, entering Malaysian Book of Records with one lakh attendees—largest ever for film audio launch.

At the event, Vijay announced quitting cinema after 33 years for politics with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). “You built me a palace. For fans who gave everything, I’m giving up cinema,” he said.

Security Concerns

The incident reignited celebrity security debates. Social media erupted with concern and anger over lapses. “You can’t control 200 people,” one fan tweeted.

This follows similar issues with Niddhi Agerwal and Samantha at Chennai airport, highlighting inadequate protocols. Fans demand investigations.

Jana Nayagan Details

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan releases January 9, 2026 (Pongal), featuring Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju. Music by Anirudh Ravichander. It clashes with Prabhas’ The Raja Saab.

Vijay founded TVK in 2024, planning to contest from Madurai East, following MGR and Jayalalithaa’s cinema-to-politics legacy.
