Tecno appears to be taking on Samsung in the foldable smartphone market without explicitly stating it. Tecno entered the competition against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series in February with the introduction of the Phantom V Fold.

However, recent signs suggest that Tecno is now gearing up to release a flip phone as a rival to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5, which is rumoured to make its debut on July 26. The Phantom V Flip 5G from Tecno has received certification from the Bluetooth SIG authority, indicating that it could be released soon.

The Bluetooth SIG authority’s database includes the Phantom V Flip 5G with the model number AD11. The smartphone will feature Bluetooth 5.3, according to the listing. It is worth noting that the Phantom V Fold foldable phone was spotted in December 2022 before its official launch in February this year. As a result, it is possible that the Phantom V Flip 5G may launch in July or August.

Expected Specs of Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G

In the previous month, a Twitter user shared live images of the Phantom V Yoga, one of which displayed the device’s key specifications, revealing its model number as AD11. According to the Bluetooth certification, Yoga V’s official marketing name is going to be “Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G.”

The Phantom V Flip 5G will feature a foldable display with a resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels. It will be powered by the Dimensity 8050 chipset, accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Additionally, the device will have 8 GB of virtual RAM. It will house a 4,000mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging. The smartphone will run on Android 13 OS with HiOS 13 overlay.

In terms of cameras, it will sport a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor. The back panel will feature a round camera module housing a ring flash and a laser autofocus unit.
