Some love stories need chemistry. This one needs literal electricity. Netflix’s upcoming K-drama “Take Charge of My Heart” has dropped fresh stills, and honestly, the premise alone is worth the hype: a man with a battery-powered artificial heart meets the one woman on Earth who can recharge it — with a simple touch.

If that sounds like a superhero comic wearing a rom-com’s clothes, you’re not wrong. And it just got a lot more real.

Take Charge Of My Heart: When Sparks Literally Fly

Kim Young Kwang plays Baek Ho Rang, a perfectionist chaebol heir running TS Resort like clockwork — cool, composed, and completely unbothered. Until he meets Na Bo Bae, played by Chae Soo Bin, a drama writer whose body generates an electric shock to anyone who touches her. She’s spent her life alone because of it. He’s the only person immune to it.

That single detail flips both their worlds. Suddenly Bo Bae has a shot at the “romance bucket list” she never thought she’d use — and Ho Rang’s mysterious artificial heart starts acting up around her.

Behind the Charm

Kim Young Kwang called the project a “comic-book-like romance,” admitting the offbeat premise of a heart running on battery power is what pulled him in. He also praised the on-set energy with his co-star, saying their scenes rarely wrapped without laughter.

Chae Soo Bin, meanwhile, dove deep into her character’s quirks — gloves, full-coverage outfits, even styling her hair to hint at static electricity — to make Bo Bae’s isolation feel lived-in rather than gimmicky.
