Suriya47: Mohanlal Cameo Rumors Finally Put to Rest

Fans hoping for a massy crossover between two icons might need to pump the brakes. Speculation around Suriya47 featuring a surprise cameo from Mohanlal had set the internet buzzing — but director Jithu Madhavan has stepped in to clear the air himself.

Suriya47: Overview

What Sparked the Rumor?

Talk began after reports suggested Suriya47 might feature Mohanlal in a cameo, possibly alongside a vintage track from one of his earlier films during an action sequence. Naturally, fans went into overdrive imagining the two stars sharing screen space.

Director Sets the Record Straight

Jithu Madhavan, known for helming Aavesham, addressed the buzz directly, stating that no poster has even been released yet and confirming Lalettan isn’t part of the project. He stayed coy on whether an old Mohanlal song could still feature in the film, simply noting that shooting is ongoing and updates will come “at the right time.”

The film follows Suriya as an eccentric police officer leading a team of quirky individuals on an unexpected mission, with Nazriya Nazim Fahadh playing the female lead. Mohanlal himself remains one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated actors, which explains why even cameo rumors involving him create such a stir.
