Suriya47 Is Wrapping Up Soon — and a Surprise Mohanlal Connection Has Fans Buzzing

Suriya is riding high on the success of Karuppu, and his next film is already deep into production. Here’s everything we know about Suriya47 — including the intriguing Mohanlal rumour that nobody is officially confirming.

Shoot Wrapping by End of June 2026

Actor Naslen, who plays a pivotal role in Suriya47, recently confirmed in an interview with Asianet News that the film’s shoot is currently underway and expected to wrap up by the end of June 2026.

Naslen couldn’t hide his excitement about working alongside the Tamil superstar. He shared that Suriya complimented his Tamil, calling him a very good and humble human being, adding that in many moments on set he found himself awestruck thinking, “Am I really with Suriya sir?” That kind of genuine admiration says a lot about the energy on set.

What Is Suriya47 About?

Suriya47 is an action-comedy that reportedly features Suriya as an eccentric police officer who leads a team of equally quirky individuals, whose lives are turned upside down when they are assigned a serious case. Think high-energy chaos wrapped in a cop drama — very much in the spirit of director Jithu Madhavan’s previous blockbuster Aavesham.

The Mohanlal Connection — Fact or Rumour?

Here’s where it gets spicy. Reports suggest the film might feature a vintage Mohanlal song during a fight sequence. When Naslen was pressed on it, he gave a delightfully vague answer — saying there are portions being shot without him, so there might be other surprises, and that he wasn’t sure if a Mohanlal song was really part of a fight scene. pinkvillapinkvilla

Given how Jithu Madhavan wove pop culture nostalgia seamlessly into Aavesham, a vintage Mohanlal musical moment in a fight sequence would be entirely on brand. It’s unconfirmed, but it’s the kind of detail that makes South cinema so delightfully unpredictable.

The Tamil film industry has a rich tradition of cross-industry musical tributes, and if this one lands the way fans are hoping, it could be one of the most talked-about sequences of 2026.
