Fans of Jithu Madhavan’s quirky cinematic universe were buzzing with speculation — could Suriya47 be secretly connected to the smash-hit Aavesham? The answer is a firm no, and it comes straight from the film’s co-star. If you were holding out hope for a crossover, it’s time to park that theory — but the actual film sounds every bit as exciting on its own terms.

What Did Naslen Say?

Speaking with Club FM during promotions for Mollywood Times, actor Naslen revealed that Suriya47 has no connection to Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham. Unlike Jithu Madhavan’s previous films, Suriya47 will not be set in Bengaluru and will not be connected to either Aavesham or Romancham in any way. Outlook Respawn

The clarification puts to rest weeks of fan speculation that director Jithu Madhavan was quietly building a shared universe across all his films.

What Is Suriya47 About?

Suriya47 reportedly features Suriya as an eccentric police officer leading a team of equally quirky individuals, whose lives are turned upside down when they are assigned a new task. It sounds like classic Jithu Madhavan territory — grounded comedy wrapped inside a high-energy premise — but with a Tamil flavour and a whole new world to play in.

The combination of Suriya’s mass screen presence and Jithu Madhavan’s knack for lovable, chaotic characters could make this one of the most anticipated Tamil films of 2027.

What Comes Next for Suriya and Naslen?

Before Suriya47 arrives, Suriya is set to star in Vishwanath And Sons, slated for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026. Naslen, meanwhile, headlines Mollywood Times directed by Abhinav Sundar Nayak — a coming-of-age comedy-drama following a young man who dreams of becoming the greatest horror filmmaker in Malayalam cinema, inspired by M. Night Shyamalan. The film is scheduled to release on June 5, 2026.

Suriya is one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, known for his work across action, drama, and comedy — making him the perfect fit for Jithu Madhavan’s genre-blending style.
