Suriya Is Going For A 2026 Hat-Trick — And Jithu Madhavan’s Film Is The Final Piece

Suriya’s comeback year just got even bigger. The actor has now confirmed his third theatrical release of 2026, and fans have every reason to be excited about this one.

Suriya’s Confirmation

Suriya has confirmed that his 47th film, directed by Jithu Madhavan, will arrive before the end of 2026, revealing in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter India that the film wrapped shoot recently and is being readied for a year-end release.

A Big Year Building To A Hat-Trick

With Karuppu already a blockbuster and Vishwanath & Sons carrying positive expectations, Suriya has built strong momentum this year, and if both upcoming films deliver, he could complete a hat-trick of successful 2026 releases, ending his lean phase on a high.

If Suriya47 arrives as expected before year-end, it will mark the actor’s third theatrical release in 2026, making it one of the busiest and most significant years of his career. With filming now complete, the team is focused on visual effects, editing, and sound design before the official release date is announced.

Inside The Jithu Madhavan Collaboration

Suriya teamed up with Malayalam director Jithu Madhavan, previously known for hit films “Romancham” and “Aavesham,” on this tentatively titled project. Nazriya Fahadh plays the female lead, with “Premalu” star Naslen essaying another key role, while Sushin Shyam composes the music and Vineeth handles cinematography.

Reports suggest the film is targeting a theatrical release during Diwali 2026, though this remains unofficial as the makers haven’t confirmed a date. Director Jithu Madhavan has described the project as an action comedy that “will be a proper Tamil film,” marking his Tamil cinema debut.

Jithu Madhavan has quickly built a reputation in Malayalam cinema for blending sharp comedy with genre storytelling, and this Tamil crossover with Suriya is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated South Indian releases of the year.
