Sung Hoon and Oh Se Young Spark Instant Chemistry at “What a Boss Wants” Script Reading

K-drama fans have a fresh reason to circle their calendars. The upcoming romance drama “What a Boss Wants“ (working title) has given fans their first look at the cast in action, sharing glimpses from its very first script reading — and early signs point to some serious on-screen chemistry between leads Sung Hoon and Oh Se Young.

What Is “What a Boss Wants” About?

Adapted from a web novel of the same name, the story follows Kwon Do Hyuk, a chaebol heir with a notoriously poor sense of taste, who becomes obsessed with tracking down the mysterious woman whose voice he once heard on an album. That search leads him to Lee Eun Chae — a job seeker by day and the lead vocalist of an indie band by night — who ends up becoming the one unpredictable variable in his otherwise perfectly controlled life.

Sung Hoon and Oh Se Young Lead the Charge

Sung Hoon takes on the role of Kwon Do Hyuk, an AI-focused entertainment CEO who masks emotional scars behind a composed, data-driven exterior. His restrained delivery is already being credited with bringing out the character’s layered personality.

Opposite him, Oh Se Young plays Lee Eun Chae, balancing two very different identities — the grounded job hunter and the confident indie band vocalist known as “Soo.” Her energetic screen presence is expected to inject warmth into a character living something of a double life.

Given how often their characters are set to clash, it’s no surprise the two leads’ playful exchanges during the script reading already hinted at genuine comic and romantic chemistry.

A Supporting Cast Built for Depth

CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin steps into the role of Moon Tae Kyung, a gentle, well-liked pediatrician, while veteran actors Park Jung Hak, Jo Hee Bong, Lee Do Yeop, Kim Yun Kyung and Lee Choong Joo round out the ensemble, each bringing distinct personalities expected to add texture to the drama’s world.

With filming and promotions ramping up, “What a Boss Wants” is set to premiere in November 2026 — giving fans a few months to catch up on the leads’ earlier work in the meantime.
