Get ready to crank up the chill factor, because Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 2 is blasting its way onto consoles next week! Scheduled to launch on Thursday, July 11th, this icy update brings a frosty new playable character, a revamped Metropolis, and a whole lot more mayhem for Task Force X.

Welcome to the Team, Mrs. Freeze!

The biggest addition in Season 2 is undoubtedly Mrs. Freeze, also known as Nora Fries. This alternate version of the classic Batman villain offers a unique twist on the character.

While details on her moveset are still under wraps, players can expect Mrs. Freeze to bring her own brand of icy vengeance to the fight. Rocksteady will likely unveil more information about her gameplay mechanics closer to the launch date.

Frozen Hearts and Winter Wonderland

Season 2 is divided into two distinct episodes: Frozen Hearts and Winter. Frozen Hearts kicks things off with a brand new Elseworlds Mayhem map, perfect for unleashing some chaotic squad-based action.

This episode also features a thrilling showdown between Superman and the Flash against the ever-evolving threat of Brainiac. Metropolis itself gets a makeover, transforming into an “ever-changing” winter wonderland – a fitting backdrop for Mrs. Freeze’s debut.

Gear Up for Mayhem

No update is complete without some fresh loot, and Season 2 delivers. Players can snag the new Killer Frost Infamy set, inspired by the iconic DC villain.

Additionally, the update introduces the “Firefly Notorious” weapon set and the “Parasite Notorious Melee” gear, perfect for those who crave a more explosive and aggressive playstyle. A brand new Battle Pass has been introduced, offering even more rewards for dedicated players.

Winter’s Bite

The second half of Season 2, titled Winter, arrives six to eight weeks after Frozen Hearts. It throws Green Lantern into the mix for another Brainiac brawl, this time teaming him up with Superman.

Winter also brings new Incursion missions, perfect for testing your squad’s teamwork and combat prowess. Gear aficionados will rejoice with the arrival of the Captain Cold Infamy set, the “Icicle Notorious” weapon set, and the “Trickster Notorious Melee” gear. Additionally, new Shop items will be available for purchase, further expanding your customization options.

Rocksteady’s Commitment to Content

Despite the game’s mixed reception, Rocksteady remains committed to its post-launch content roadmap. Season 2’s arrival underscores this dedication, offering players a significant update with a new character, fresh storylines, and a winterized Metropolis to explore.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may not have lived up to all expectations, Rocksteady’s dedication to providing extra content is encouraging for fans who continue to enjoy the core gameplay experience.

The Future of Rocksteady

Looking ahead, Rocksteady seems poised to return to its single-player roots, according to industry insider Jason Schreier. This news will undoubtedly be welcomed by fans who miss the studio’s acclaimed Arkham series.

While Season 2 injects some much-needed variety into Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it’s clear that Rocksteady’s true strengths lie in crafting meticulously crafted, narrative-driven experiences.
