Sugar Season 2 Episode 6 Raises The Stakes — Here’s When “Cautionary Tale” Drops

John Sugar is running out of room to hide. Sugar Season 2 Episode 6, titled “Cautionary Tale,” premieres this week on Apple TV+, pushing the neo-noir detective deeper into danger with just two episodes left in the season.

When Does Episode 6 Release?

“Cautionary Tale” premieres on Friday, July 24, 2026, exclusively on Apple TV+. Apple typically releases new episodes simultaneously worldwide, though in the US episodes have occasionally landed a few hours early on Thursday night.

Where the Story Left Off

In episode 5, John Sugar went into hiding with Ji Moon at a rehabilitation center and arranged a fake death to throw off his pursuers. He’s now working to connect with Tom Flybjerg, who could help secure witness protection for Ji Moon — but only if Sugar can prove Vega’s involvement in Chuy’s death.

Meanwhile, Sugar’s investigation into former senator Pavich deepens, turning up unusual scientific papers and a room full of plants tied to a professor connected to him — a thread that’s expected to escalate sharply in “Cautionary Tale.”

What’s Next For The Season

With only two episodes remaining, Episode 7, “What Else Can You Do?,” arrives July 31, followed by the season finale, “Like Sugar,” on August 7. Expect episode 6 to raise the stakes considerably, setting up the confrontations and revelations that will carry the season to its close.
