Episode 1 Recap: “The Dark Revenge” — Maul’s Return Begins
The first episode begins with a cold open on Janix — an outlier planet outside the Empire’s purview — where Maul, accompanied by allies Rook Kast, Scorn, and a mischievous spybot, loots fugitive Nico Deemis’ riches from a bank vault. The fury with which Maul dispatches pursuing police officers reflects his pent-up rage against those who betrayed him — Deemis was a former Shadow Collective member.
Detective Brander Lawson is assigned to the investigation. Upon scanning an image of Maul recorded at the scene, the result comes back classified — and Lawson deliberately withholds the intel from the Empire, not wanting their involvement just yet.

How Does Maul Plan His Revenge?
Maul is meticulously orchestrating a clash between two rival crime lords — Nico Deemis and Looti Vario — to have them kill each other off so he can take over their syndicate. At the same time, he has another more personal objective: he can sense the presence of a powerful Force user he wishes to turn into his new apprentice. Film Fugitives
Deemis ends up dead at Vario’s hands, Vario gets taken into custody by Janix police — and in the climactic finale, Maul and his warriors invade the police station, taking out security droids and springing Vario, setting the entire chess board in motion. LaughingPlace
Meet Devon Izara — Maul’s Target
Gideon Adlon plays Devon Izara, a Twi’lek Jedi Padawan on the run following Order 66, targeted by Maul as a potential new apprentice. She and her master, Jedi Master Eeko-Dio-Daki, are hiding out on Janix. Wikipedia
The central tension of the series — will Devon fall to the dark side? — is already being teased brilliantly. For more on Darth Maul’s history in the Star Wars universe, check out Wikipedia. And for the latest Star Wars news and streaming updates, visit TechnoSports.
