Spider-Man: Brand New Day Twitter Reactions: Fans Call It a “10/10” MCU Reset

The reviews are in, and Twitter (X) can’t stop gushing over Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, this fourth instalment in the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise picks up four years after the heartbreaking events of No Way Home — and early fan reactions suggest it was worth the wait.

One fan gave the film a perfect score, praising it as a heartfelt exploration of growing into adulthood and the importance of staying close to loved ones, crediting Cretton for balancing action with genuine emotion. Another viewer went further, arguing that the film raises the bar for what an MCU movie can be, calling Tom Holland’s performance career-defining and crowning him the best live-action Spider-Man yet.

A third reviewer framed the film as both a celebration and reexamination of what the character represents, arguing it proves audiences aren’t tired of superheroes — just weak filmmaking. A fourth fan echoed that sentiment, saying this outing finally captured the essence of the character in a way previous films hadn’t, crediting Holland with making them genuinely love his take on Peter Parker.

While the story centers deeply on Peter Parker’s emotional journey, it’s backed by a stacked supporting cast including Zendaya as MJ, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk.

This kind of overwhelming fan response reflects just how central Spider-Man remains to modern superhero cinema, decades after his big-screen debut.
