South Indian OTT Releases This Week at a Glance

Gatta Kusthi 2: The Sequel Everyone’s Talking About

Topping this week’s South Indian OTT releases is easily the most anticipated title: Gatta Kusthi 2 arrives on Netflix after crossing ₹55 crore worldwide at the box office, with Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi reprising their popular wrestling comedy roles. Directed by Chella Ayyavu, the sequel subverts the first film’s gender dynamics by placing Veera in the role of a supportive house partner, a clever twist that’s earned it strong critical buzz alongside its commercial success.

Netflix has confirmed the film will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi,</cite> making it accessible to audiences well beyond its home Tamil market.

The Bigger Streaming Trend

This week’s South Indian OTT releases underscore a broader pattern: hit theatrical films are moving to streaming faster than ever, often within weeks of their cinema run ending.
