The cast list for one of the most anticipated K-drama adaptations in years just got another exciting name attached to it. Reports suggest rising actress Choi Myeong Been is set to join Byeon Woo Seok in the live-action adaptation of Solo Leveling, and fans of the hit series are already buzzing.

For those unfamiliar, “Solo Leveling” started life as a web novel before exploding into a webtoon and animated series with a massive global fanbase. It follows Sung Jin Woo, the weakest of all Hunters, who gains extraordinary powers after a near-death experience and rises to become humanity’s last hope against monstrous threats from mysterious Gates.

What’s Being Solo Leveling Reported?

According to OSEN, Choi Myeong Been is in talks to play Sung Jin Ah — Sung Jin Woo’s younger sister — a key supporting role in the story. Her agency, O3 Collective, has kept things cautious for now, simply stating that nothing has been confirmed yet.

Building an All-Star Cast

This isn’t the first big name attached to the project, and it clearly won’t be the last. Byeon Woo Seok has already been confirmed as the lead, while Han So Hee and Kang You Seok are reportedly in talks for major roles as Cha Hae In and Yoo Jin Ho. Add to that a growing list of names in discussion — Kang Mina, Rain, Lee Sung Min, Lee Hong Nae, Sung Joon, and Kim Si Ah — and it’s clear the production is assembling serious star power behind this adaptation.

Why This Casting Matters?

Choi Myeong Been has built a solid reputation through consistently strong performances, from her breakout debut in “Queen of Walking” to acclaimed dramas like “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One.” If confirmed, playing Sung Jin Ah gives her a meaningful supporting role in one of the biggest IP adaptations currently in production — a smart, high-visibility move for her career.

With so many major names circling this project, expectations are sky-high for how faithfully — and ambitiously — this live-action version will bring the beloved story to screen.
