His remarkable seven wicket haul in the second innings cemented his place in the cricketing world’s spotlight.

Price Tag and IPL Debut

The 24 year old speedster joins LSG for a hefty sum of INR 3 Crore. This marks Joseph’s maiden stint in the IPL, and expectations are soaring high considering his sensational entry into international cricket.

Hailing from Baracara in Guyana, Joseph’s cricketing journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Despite picking up the sport relatively late, his talent shone brightly, earning him a spot in the West Indies’ Test squad. His debut Test innings against Australia in Adelaide, where he clinched a fifer, showcased his immense potential to the world.

Joseph’s immediate impact on the international stage, especially with his crucial role in West Indies’ triumph at The Gabba, speaks volumes about his caliber. With 14 wickets in just two Tests against Australia, Joseph’s inclusion in LSG promises to bolster their pace attack significantly.

Replacing a Star

Mark Wood’s absence due to workload management ahead of the T20 World Cup paved the way for Joseph’s entry into LSG. Despite Wood’s impressive stint in the IPL, injuries hampered his performance, making room for Joseph to make his mark in the tournament.

LSG’s strategic move to rope in Joseph, coupled with their other acquisitions during the IPL 2024 auction, reflects their determination to fortify their pace-bowling arsenal. With talents like Shivam Mavi, David Willey, and Arshad Khan in their ranks, LSG is gearing up for an electrifying season.
